Seeds
Sowed
by
TammRae
Considering the path to my garden
gate,
Flowers sprinkled along the
way,
Tiny seeds and dirt and
sun
With a little water flowers
begun.
The beautiful flowers inspire me to
muse.
what seeds do we plant as we
choose,
The steps that we take and the words that
we speak
though simple seeds, what do we
reap?
Are our seeds growing trees with
fruit
Are they well established with deep
roots
Or have we wander too crooked a
road
To feed anyone with the seed
sowed?
Does a cold hard winter lead to
spring
or is cold and hard the seed that we
bring.
Are we sharing our true gifts one with
another
encouraging and nourishing our
brother?
The Meek
shall Inherit... (8-25-08)
You know, I learned a really great lesson on this
topic. It has to do with the meaning and personality of meekness. I
thought this might be helpful to someone else.
When I was young I used to love to play jacks, and I and a
neighbor of my grandmother used to get a set of jacks at the "dime
store". However, we would get a super ball instead of the soft
mushy ball that came with the jacks because boy would it bounce and
give us plenty of time to pick up our jacks.
Well, many people hear the reference of meekness and say
to themselves, "I don't want to be MEEK?!" But look what I found
out. Part of meekness that we miss is the ability to bounce back.
Take a golf ball for instance. A golf ball is hard, but when hit
with that club, wow does it bounce back and look at how far forward
it goes after being "HIT". That is the meaning of meekness!! The
ability to bounce back.
Consider any tropical area. Palm trees are found very
plenifully in tropical areas. Wonder why? They are meek. When winds
and gales, hurricanes and tropical storms batter them, they can lay
over horizontal with the ground and bounce right back into place,
no harm done when the winds are over. That is meekness. The ability
to bounce back. Look it up. As well as humility, meekness is
plyability and the ability to BOUNCE BACK. This in not at all what
most people think about Meekness.
Just like that super ball we used to get for our jacks,
God needs us to be able to bounce right back. He said He whom I
love I chasten. And we know that things are not always easy going
in life, so we need meekness to bounce right back and press
on.
Now, this does not mean fight back, vengence is God's and
He goes before and behind us. But meekness means to fall up, not
down. When something happens to compress us we are able to handle
it without blame, guilt, condemnation or falling down and having to
start all over from the beginning. Like in music, if you make a
mistake in music, you don't stop and start from the beginning, you
keep going without missing another step.
Meekness!
This lesson really opened my eyes and helped me in more
than one way, I hope it is helpful to you too.

Broken
I have recently taken in a dog, her name is now Ginger,
and she is part of my daily life. I took her in off the road and
have now made sure that no one was missing her or looking for her.
She came to me, broken. She showed her damage by an odd way of
hauling herself around sometimes. I took her to my vet, to have her
examined and get her shots, and they soon shared something with me
that was again, a life lesson in faith.
We as christians know and for the most part accept that
through Jesus' stripes we are healed, as I do. But as I looked at
the exrays of this beautiful little stray dog, with eyes that will
melt your heart, I realized something amazing.
My Vet looked over at me as he pointed to Ginger's exrays
on his office computer. With astonishment He said, I never would
have imagined the extent of Gingers breaks by watching her walk. I
can not even believe that Ginger can walk at all with the damage
that has been done and is still on going in her hips. Looking, at
both hips broken and one side multiple times and press in, I
realized that God knows... God knows when a feather falls from a
sparow. I told the nurse just that, I said "God
Knows".
Had God put Ginger's bones back like new, none of us would
have been touched by His miracle performed for this little stray
dog. Though both hips were broken and one crushed nearly, this dog
walked with only a slight diviation from normal.
WOW!
So, what about us. When we are broken, God knows! And just
like this little dog he may not put everything visibly back just
like it was before but never the less heal the wound. He takes a
broken vessel and remakes us His way. And His way often means that
people know we have been broken but wow watch us go. So this is
just further proof that His eye is on us, and he watches over us.
If we come to him broken, He will make us whole His way. And I know
I will be better because of Him. How about You?
Love and Love...
.
.
.
When Jesus was speaking one day he was asked (Master)
which is the greatest of these commandments? I think his reply has
been one of the most important discoveries for me. He said love,
love was the greatest of these. He said there are 2, the first
being, Love the Lord with all thy heart and all thy mind and all
thy strength, and the other was like unto it. The second was, love
thy neighbor AS thyself. But more than that, he went further to
tell us that upon these two commandments rest all the laws and all
the Prophets. This message came to us from Jesus,
himself.
Upon the two commandments of love rest everything
else.

My Secret Garden
I like the story of the "Secret Garden" ... a
secret place around which strong walls guard and keep a beautiful
Eden. A place not completely cut off from the world but only
accessible thru a stong narrow gate, opened only by those who hold
the key, a place where no death or destruction enters in, a place
where beauty and growth blossom.
This Kingdom is within us and our Lord has given
us the key. Unattended, the garden is fruitless and bare, but with
love it brings forth fruit and the sweet fragrance of blossoms and
blooms. The brambles pulled back, tender plants are revealed and no
longer choked, they grow. The fruit from the garden can feed many
souls, if we are willing to share. And, if we share the bounteous
harvest, with our enemies, neighbors and friends, no one will ever
go wantingl!
The Missing
Ingrediant
I observe that those of us who live lives
based on forgiveness (undeserved forgiveness even) are often the
least willing to bestow that same forgiveness on others. Too often
that valuable ingrediant that exemplifies our Faith is the missing
ingrediant in our relationships. We did not earn or deserve the
forgiveness we received and any one who thinks differently needs to
take another look! Therefore, those with whom we share forgiveness
should not have to earn or deserve it either. Like the parable of
the servant with so large a debt he could never pay, who when
forgiven the whole debt turned to his fellow servant and refused to
forgive a small debt. We read this story but do we hide it in our
hearts as something valuable to remember and refer to in our daily
lives? Do we really hunger and thurst for our Lord Jesus Christ, or
do we have the we've got ours syndrome?
There is plenty of Love and Forgivenss to
go 'round and to put it to a finer point, if we don't share it, we
lose it. I think we should especially remember the undeserved part
of the deal, least we think entirely too highly of
ourselves.
Forgiveness is an amazingly healing balm.
I think it's time we took special attention to applying it! Don't
YOU?
